So we have a thing here in Europe called the Eurovision. It’s a pretty big deal, racking up the most viewers for a non-sporting event. Each country sends a song and Europe votes for its favourite, country by country. Loud, bizarre and very rarely tasteful, it’s Europe’s guilty pleasure. That’s not to say it doesn’t produce cracking tunes though. For every dreadful rap, every unnecessary dance-break, there’s a chance what you are watching could become the next big thing. Celine Dion represented Switzerland once after all. This year, fresh off her win and following in ABBA’s footsteps, is Loreen with ‘Euphoria’ an absolutely gem of a track. It was the favourite and it’s not hard to see why. It’s already topped the charts in many countries across Europe and after Saturday night’s success I’m sure by the end of the week it’ll have taken over radio in the rest of them. Part David Guetta, part Kate Bush, Loreen just might have a track to jump across the pond with. I don’t know about you but I can see myself dancing to this all summer…and loving it.
